Tanner Hawkins

Welcome!  My name is Tanner Hawkins, and I am so excited to help you reach your educational goals.

I am a fully licensed CCSD teacher and mother of three amazing children.  I attended Boston University on a full academic scholarship to study journalism and attended UNLV for my Secondary Education degree.  Prior to attending college, I scored in the 97th percentile on the ACT.

I am currently a high school English teacher.  As an educator, I have trained with CCSD and the Princeton Review to guide students to success on the ACT.  I have experience teaching at a variety of levels: English 10, English 11, AP Literature & Composition, co-taught English 11 classes for students with individualized needs and accommodations, ACT Prep, and Study Skills to provide support for students of all levels in all subject areas.

I have attended multiple College Board Institutes to better prepare my students for the AP English exams.  Each year I have taught AP Literature & Composition, my student pass rate has been significantly higher than both the state and national average.  On the 2022 AP exam, 90% of my students passed the exam.

With my experience and unique insight as a former student, lifelong learner, educator, and parent, I am confident I can help you improve your skills and achieve success.  I look forward to working with you!
