Jessy Hassell

Hello! My name is Jessy, and I’m excited to work with you on your educational goals!

I have always had an affinity for math. When I was in high school, I was often helping my friends with their homework. When I took the ACT, I scored in the 93rd percentile overall, while scoring in the 99th percentile for math. When I went to college, I started working in the Math Lab to tutor my fellow students. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in applied mathematics from Brigham Young University Hawaii in 2019. From there, I taught math at both the high school and middle school levels. Some of the classes I taught included Honors Pre-Calculus, Algebra 2, and Geometry.

In 2020 I gave birth to my son and decided going back to teaching full-time wasn’t going to be a great fit. So I decided to offer tutoring to my local community on Oahu. I tutored students of all ages, focusing on 8th grade and up. My experience ranges from helping eighth graders raise their state test scores and move up to honors classes, to helping AP Calculus students understand the material being taught and improve their class grades. I even helped some families homeschool their 4th graders.

My family and I moved to the Vegas area in October of 2023 and I am thrilled to be working with Tutors Across America. I’m excited to help the students in our community and watch them soar!
