Hello! My name is Jacqui Dimalanta, and I’m so excited to work with you!
My tutoring and teaching experience dates back to when I was in high school. During that time, I was a Kumon tutor and helped lead a peer tutoring club at my own school. I then graduated UCLA with a B.S. in Psychobiology and a minor in Asian American Studies. Afterward, I worked with City Year San Jose as a student aide, mentor, and after-school coordinator. I am now a math teacher at West Prep Academy and concurrently an M.Ed student at UNLV. I have experience teaching Algebra II, Math of Personal Finance, and AVID. I am also an ACT boot camp teacher. In my spare time, I enjoy playing video games, exploring new food places, and spending time with friends and family.
My teaching philosophy is putting students first and working at their pace. I truly believe in the success of all students through hard work, dedication, and a growth mindset.
