Jacqui Dimalanta

Hello! My name is Jacqui Dimalanta, and I’m so excited to work with you!

My tutoring and teaching experience dates back to when I was in high school. During that time, I was a Kumon tutor and helped lead a peer tutoring club at my own school. I then graduated UCLA with a B.S. in Psychobiology and a minor in Asian American Studies. Afterward, I worked with City Year San Jose as a student aide, mentor, and after-school coordinator. After working during the pandemic with underserved students, I knew I wanted to make a difference by becoming a teacher. I moved to Las Vegas in 2021 to pursue this career path and attained my Master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction at UNLV in 2023. I have experience teaching Algebra II, Precalculus, Reasoning & Sense-making in Math, Math of Personal Finance, and AVID 12. In my spare time, I enjoy playing video games, solving unique rubik’s cubes, exploring new food places, and spending time with friends and family.

My teaching philosophy is putting students first and working at their pace. I truly believe in the success of all students through hard work, dedication, and a growth mindset.
