Payment Questions

While individual tutor rates vary by level of experience and expertise, our rates are usually a fraction of what the big name tutoring companies (Kaplan, Princeton Review, Sylvan, Huntington…) charge. Because we don’t spend millions on overhead expenses and advertising, we’re able to offer the same high quality tutors (many of our tutors have taught, or are teaching, for these companies), at a fraction of the price. And because we pay our tutors significantly more than our competitors, we hire and retain the best tutors in the country.

All payments should be made through Tutors Across America. This can be done in several ways: Our website accepts payments through PayPal and Google Checkout or you can call our office to pay by phone at: 702-818-5444.

No, for accounting and security purposes, all payments must be made through Tutors Across America. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Yes. We offer discounts for every 5 hour increments of tutoring hours purchased at one time. Discounts range from 5% to 30% off the tutor’s hourly rate. Discounted rates are shown on each tutor’s profile so you can know the exact price prior to booking.

Miscellaneous

Both students and tutors should provide at least 24 hrs. notice prior to a cancellation/reschedule request. If student cancels less than 24 hrs. in advance more than once, a warning may be issued by the tutor, after which any subsequent last minute cancellations will be charged at a rate of 1 hour of tutoring.

Yes! A majority of our tutors offer live online tutoring via Skype. Our US tutors have worked with students in all 50 states, and several countries. This is a seamless approach to bringing some of the best tutors in the country into your home.

Usually either the student’s home, or a local library near the student’s house. If at home, we require a parent or guardian be present during all tutoring sessions. Other students have chosen to meet tutors at school, a local Starbucks, etc.
